Clear Acrylic

Clear acrylic is suitable alternatives to glass, offering a lightweight and shatterproof option. As with standard clear and non-reflective glass, there are no UV protective qualities.

Acrylic is a safe option for oversized frames or areas with safety concerns. It is not recommended for pastels or charcoals because of the static electric charge acrylic holds which can cause dust particles to stick to the surface and detract from the clarity of the image.

Cast Acrylic has light transmission of ~92%, absorption~ 2% and reflection of ~6%.

Clear acrylic come with thickness of 3mm -5mm with maximum size of 2m X 4m.

Advantages of acrylic are light weight , shatter resistant , opticially clear and insulating.

Disadvantages of acrylic are cost slightly more then glass , lack of scratch resistance , will bend or bow depending on the thickness , temperature and humidity and static charge.
